Governor Otti Commissions The Newly Built Computerized Vehicle Inspection Service Center

Governor Alex Otti has officially commissioned the newly built Computerized Vehicle Inspection Service Center located in Ubakala, Umuahia South Local Government

Speaking while commissioning the project, Governor Alex Otti described the State Computerized Vehicle Inspection Center as a facility that will improve the revenue base of the State and also help in saving the life of the citizens.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy,  Engr Ikechukwu Emetu said the State government embarked on the project to create more job opportunities for the teeming youths as well as making sure that vehicles that ply the roads are road worthy.

The Governor commended the facilitators , Temple SYC for partnering with the State government to ensure the actualization of the project which has enabled the government to achieve its objective of ensuring human capital development and safety of lives and property in the State.

In his address, the State Commissioner for Transport,Comrade Sunny Onwuma said that the project is aimed at ensuring that vehicles that ply the State roads are roadworthy at all times and will equally serve as an avenue to generate huge revenue for the State as well as maximizing the investment of the Stakeholders.

He equally called on the citizens to imbibe safety culture by making sure that vehicles on the roads are roadworthy and not a potential danger to other road users.

In his address earlier, the Group Managing Director of Temple SYC, Prince Segun Obayendo represented by Mr Ezedum Obinwanne expressed delight that Abia State has joined the league of 26 states in the federation that have shared commitment to reduce carnages on the roads to the barest minimum and disclosed that the center has the capacity to inspect up to 200 vehicles daily.
