Traders At Ngwa Road Market Sends Save Our Soul To Abia State Government Over Military Closure Of Businesses


Traders at Ngwa road in Aba, Abia state, have sent a Save Our Souls appeal to the Governor of Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti, over military closure on their businesses .

The traders  came to Government House Umuahia, to present their petition to the Governor, signed by Mr. Chinedu Oforndu and Mr. Ikenna Ohanaba, President and Secretary of the Traders Association respectively.

They said that traders at Ngwa Road Market by Ohanku, in Aba South local government Area came under siege by the military from may 30th, 2024 till date after the incident that happened at Obikabia Junction.

“Our Shops are under siege by the military, our shops have been locked, no business transactions, no movement of cars and people, everywhere have been locked up by the military. We can’t have access to our businesses, hunger is killing us. We plead for your intervention because we are tired.

In his response the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade, commerce and industry,  Chief Nwaka Imeme, who received the traders on behalf of the Governor, assured the traders that government will look into their problem so as to resolve any problem they are having with the military, and equally review the security situation in Aba.
