Flooding In Ogun  State: FG Delegation Visits For Assessment



The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, was in Ogun state to assess the flood affected Isheri community in the Ifo local government area following the unfortunate water incident, which has forced many citizens out of their homes and left them devastated.
The governor Prince Dapo Abiodun informed residents after meeting the Minister that In line with the government’s commitment to providing support and relief, the Federal Government has reassured of full assistance and emphasized the establishment of a dedicated committee to address the flooding issue comprehensively.
He further informed that, the Minister sought to assess the issues on ground with the aim of formulating a comprehensive plan to provide humanitarian support and relief items to the affected individuals and families. The Honourable Minister will be visiting the affected area on Saturday 4/11/2023. During the visit to the Governor’s office, the Minister highlighted several initiatives that the State can actively engage in to alleviate the current situation. The visit of the Honourable Minister signifies the commitment of the federal government to address the needs of citizens who have been affected by this devastating event, the governor said.
