Commissioner Of Police Visits Abia Information Boss

The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Abia State, Prince Okey Kanu, says there is need for collaboration with security outfits in the State for adequate protection of lives and property of the citizens.

Prince Kanu, stated this in his office in Umuahia, when he received in audience the Commissioner of Police, CP, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie and his Team, who were on a courtesy visit.

The Information Boss who pledged the commitment of his Ministry to give the Police needed support and furnish them with useful information, urged Abians to disregard the growing trend that people’s genitals are being stolen.

He advised the people of Abia to report any case of missing genitals to any nearby police station for investigations rather than take laws into their hands.

Earlier in his speech, the Commissioner of Police, CP, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, who described information as being strategic to governance, stressed the need for a partnership between the Police and ministry of Information towards ensuring that goals and interests of the people of Abia are met.

According to CP Onwuemelie, the collaboration became pertinent in a bid to ensure that information is deployed in line with the vision of the Dr Alex Otti led government.

While expressing dismay at the rate fake news such as reports on missing genitals fly about, CP Onwuemelie, said it is worrisome that things like that still happen in the country.

The Commissioner who described as barbaric, the act of civilised persons taking laws into their hands, pointed out that most people leverage on that to unduly visit terror or victimize their enemies.
