Abia Governor’s Wife Inaugurates Christmas Funfair For Children

The Wife of the Governor of Abia State,Mrs. Priscilla Otti has officially launched the Christmas funfair for children in Abia.

The event took place at the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State playground in Umuahia, the state capital.

Mrs. Otti emphasized the state government’s dedication to the safety, health, and happiness of children through child-friendly programs.

Represented by Mrs. Eucharia Okezie Mmeregini, the wife of the deputy speaker of the Abia House of Assembly, Mrs. Otti highlighted the administration’s commitment to children, evident in regular deworming exercises to ensure their well-being. She also mentioned the administration’s outreach to motherless homes, emphasizing their duty to spread love and care.

“Additionally, we consistently conduct vaccination exercises, including HPV, and sensitize our communities on gender-based violence, preparing the younger generation for a violence-free future. To the children present, I offer advice on embracing kindness, resilience, and curiosity. Pursue your dreams with determination, knowing each of you has the power to make a positive impact in the world,” she stated.

In her remarks, the Acting Director-General of BCA, Mrs. Esther Agu Anyanwu, mentioned the collaboration with De-Latinos Concept for this year’s children’s Christmas funfair, aiming to provide a memorable and fun-filled Christmas for the children.

“We continue to provide a safe and enabling environment for you to thrive. Pursue your dreams with resilience and determination, knowing that you can achieve anything you set your mind on,” she encouraged.

Elder Jonathan Nwosu, the chairman of the organizing committee, explained that the funfair aims to create a conducive environment for children to showcase their creativity, interact intellectually, and experience the true origin of Christmas celebration in a special way.

Meanwhile, Mr. Peterson Agu, the representative of De-Latinos Concept, expressed the idea of turning Abia State into a tourist destination where anyone can come and have fun.
